My First Interview! The request came by email before the book was even agented! Did I want to speak to a young journalist about the writing process?
Did I? Of course. My first official interview. Better yet, it was going to be on TV. And so what if my interviewer was a 13-year-old looking for an interviewee for his media class? Ahem, ahem, please take note: I may not have been his first choice, but neither was I third. The interview and the shoot went so well, I was not the least bit disturbed when an informant revealed that the only part the students paid attention to, apparently giggling madly, was when I pointed to my bed as one of my prime writing locations. Really? Are 13-year-old minds that entrenched in the gutter? Mine certainly wasn't at that age. Okay, I take that back. But we'll leave that for another essay. Interview forthcoming. |
